Because we want everyone to remember
their sacrifices here's a
tribute to our fallen heroes of
World War I, World War II, the Vietnam
War, 9/11, tyranny and of the wars today
|
Why has this song moved me to tears so?
The answer is simple. It is about the
ultimate sacrifice regardless of gratitude.
I remember perfectly where I was in my two bedroom apartment when New York’s
Twin Towers were attacked. At first I thought that I was watching a movie,
but when I was awakened by the reality of it all, I could literally feel my body
trembling in disbelief. I
couldn’t find the words to express what I was feeling, simply because I had
none...
It was days after the 9/11 attack when I first began writing this song.
The first two lines came to me easily, as if etched in my mind, waiting to be
seen. Then I wrote a few more lines, but shortly thereafter decided to put
it away to continue it later.
Five years later this song came to me again, but this time it hit me like never
before.
“That the
sacrifices they’ve made needs to be remembered. It wasn’t about any one
person in particular, but the ‘Sacrifice’ is for the
betterment of us all!”
In the grand scheme of it all the “Who’s”, the “Why’s”, the “When’s”, the
“How’s”, and the “Where” pales in comparison to the “Did”, and the “Do”.
To me, the words of “Lest We Forget…” instrumentizes their essence to our
hearts. The video captures our attention so that we always honour the
remembrance of our heroes, and the poem poetically harmonizes the price of
liberty.

remembered this verse, I had to ask
myself...

themselves for people they'll never
know?
